Rod Malcolm serves as Executive Vice President and Consumer Practice Leader in DHR’s Toronto office. Additionally, he is also the Global Leader of DHR International’s Consumer Practice.

Mr. Malcolm offers his clients a deep understanding of the business issues they are facing gained from his over 25 years of experience in sales, marketing, and general management positions with major international corporations combined with his broad executive search experience. In addition to his extensive experience working with consumer goods and services, retail and hospitality companies, Mr. Malcolm’s global search practice also includes experience across a broad range of industries including industrial, real estate and private equity firms. Specific assignments include searches for Board members, Chief Executive Officers, Chief Operating Officers, and senior executives across virtually all functional areas; including general management, marketing, sales, finance, human resources, and development.

Prior to joining DHR, Mr. Malcolm was a Managing Director in the Toronto office of Boyden Global Executive Search. Previously, he had been the Managing Partner of the Canadian Consumer and Retail Practice at Korn/Ferry International.

Mr. Malcolm began his career with Procter and Gamble where he spent six years in various marketing assignments. He then spent over ten years with Pepsi-Cola International in Canada, Asia, and the United States where he served as Vice President, Cola Marketing. Returning to Canada in 1988, Mr. Malcolm moved into the financial services sector where he held general management roles. He subsequently returned to consumer services when he accepted the role of President of KFC, a division of Scott’s Food Service.

Mr. Malcolm currently sits on the Board of Directors of Forterra Inc., a highly innovative publicly traded company involved in the processing of organic waste.  He is also very active in numerous community organizations. He is on the Board of Directors of the Special Olympics Festival which is the primary fund-raising arm of Special Olympics Canada and is a member of the Board of Directors, Hospice Association of Ontario.  Mr. Malcolm has served as Chairman of the Board of Governors for Sterling Hall School, Treasurer of Timothy Eaton Memorial Church, and Chairman of Upper Canada College Rowing Program.

Mr. Malcolm graduated with Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario and has completed an Executive Development program in financial management from Columbia University.   He is married with three children.
